Rochester, Minnesota – June 28, 2017 Eyota resident, Bryon school teacher, and former Minnesota House Candidate John Wayne Austinson formally announced his bid for the United States Congress this afternoon.

At a well attended event in Silver Lake Park, John laid out his vision for southern Minnesota, the issues that need to be addressed, and a bold call to unite as one.

John is running on a message of unity that boasts a progressive mind steeped in the deep traditions of the Minnesota Spirit. In his speech, John said that the campaign will be a daunting and exciting challenge.

John is running to reimagine the education system, rethink healthcare, revitalize the economy, and uphold the southern Minnesota way of life.

John Wayne Austinson Will Announce Congressional Candidacy


Eyota, Minnesota – Monday, June 26, 2017. Former Byron Head Football Coach and Minnesota House Candidate, John Wayne Austinson, will announce his candidacy for the First Congressional District to replace Representative Tim Walz on Wednesday, June 28th, 2017 at 5:00 PM in Silver Lake Park in Rochester, Minnesota.

The Byron Public Schools teacher will be seeking the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party endorsement.

John welcomes everyone to come by the event, where he will be setting his agenda and goals over the upcoming months.
